R.I.P. Henry: Season 01
Henry is too good for Odda, the shitty little town he ended up in. He's also way too good a surgeon for its small hospital. He doesn't like people, and they don't like him. Luckily, he'll be moving to Bergen to work at a renowned hospital, finally starting over after losing everything three years ago. Before leaving, Henry discovers he has a serious problem, embarking on a desperate battle to survive.
Why can't he fix himself when he's capable of fixing everyone else? On his journey, Henry discovers that love can be found when you least expect it. As his meticulously controlled life crumbles in the confines of remote Odda, the brilliant but arrogant surgeon grapples with profound isolation and unspoken traumas from his past losses. His clinical precision falters against personal ailments, forcing raw confrontations with human frailty he so expertly mends in others—questioning identity, redemption, and connection in a world that mirrors his disdain. Through tense medical crises and unexpected bonds, Henry's arc unfolds as a riveting study in vulnerability.
An arrogant small-town surgeon forced to confront life’s deepest questions is the unlikely anti-hero of ‘R.I.P. Henry’, Viaplay’s latest Original from Norway. Mads Ousdal (‘Wisting’; ‘Witch Hunt’) plays the title role in the eight-part drama, directed by award-winning Arild Fröhlich (‘Fatso’; ‘Helt Perfekt’).
